OUR MINISTRY:
History
10-8 ministries was founded by both state and local Law Enforcement Officers. The founder of the ministry is Dr. Bradley Boone, Deputy Sheriff with Yancey County Sheriff’s Office and pastor of Concord Baptist Church. The board of directors is made up of Christian Law Enforcement Personnel from across the state, with a specific burden to bring local Law Enforcement and local Churches together.
Family
The popularly-held belief that cops get divorced more than others is not supported by research. This fact does not mean that they do not get divorced at a higher rate, only that there is no good science to prove it. Policing does involve unique stresses and strains on marriages and families that officers should be aware of. Of course all marriages are affected by everyday life strains, but the Law Enforcement family has those same stressors with the traumatic call the LEO was dispatched to the night before piled on top. One of our goals is to let Officers know that help is not far away. It can be found in God’s Word, your Pastor and fellow Law Enforcement Officers.
Faith
Law Enforcement Officers deal with evil daily while they patrol the streets of our cities, towns and communities. While the general public live their lives looking for the good in society, Law Enforcement Officers live a majority of their lives looking for the evil that is ignored. This reality of Law Enforcement Officers closeness to evil demands strong support from a Biblical perspective through our local churches
Bible Plan of Salvation
The Bible says that all men are sinners. Our sins have separated us from God.
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
The Bible says that there is a payment for sin.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death,” Wages means payment.
The payment of our sin is death and Hell. If we continue in sin and die without Christ, we will be lost forever. The Bible says that Christ died in our place. All of our sins were laid on Christ when He died. He paid our sin debt for us.
Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
The Bible says that we must pray and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior.
Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Accept God’s gift of Salvation Today!
While we do not believe a ritualistic prayer will get anyone to heaven, we do believe calling upon the name of Christ with an attitude of repentance and trusting Him and Him alone for salvation will. You could pray something like this: “Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I am trusting You and only You to forgive me of my sins and take me to Heaven when I die. Jesus, please save me right now. Thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen.”
